in good condition, just some writing on in metallic paint which may be hard to get off
im asking what I should offer someone for this bass
Affinity? Vintage Modified? Classic Vibe? Age? Color?
Well technically price quotes are for supporting members, but $80-150 depending on the model.
I've purchased two Squier Affinity P's in my life. Both were in rough shape.
The first (circa 2000) one had the small tuners. $30 with Road Runner gig bag.
The second one (Circa 2004) was a mess, and needed some setup love. $40
the owner just said a black squire precision bass that's 5 years old... just the p pick ups, not jazz
This would definitely help us to give you an idea what it's worth.
i don't think its affinity or anything, just the standard model
its a black squier standard p bass in black, 5 years old in good condition (apart from paint on it which could be hard to get off) and with a used fender rumble 15W amp
how much do you think?
You can always go to Ebay and do a search of auctions which have closed.
I believe most folks would consider the Affinity the "standard Squier". I think the general street price NEW is $179 (sometimes you can get them cheaper). If you are patient, you should be able to find a NICE used one for $80 or so. Their quality can vary greatly. Be sure to check it out before you buy. A piece of crap is no bargain at any price. Every once in a while you can find a very good one.
I paid $90 for a Squier P bass special. NOT the affinity.
And that was from Guitar center, so they probably only paid like 30 for it.
just been offered the squier p bass with a gig bag for $105 in really good condition, do i buy it?
Not nearly enough info.
Do you like it? buy it.
im sorry for the lack of info, but ive bought it anyway.
thanks for the help everyone
You probably didn't hurt yourself - good luck with your new bass...
Up until about two years ago when it was cancelled, Squier did indeed have a "Standard" line which was the tier between the Affinity and Vintage Modified lines, and yes, for A Squier Standard P-bass plus gig bag and in good condition, $105 seems a fair price. Congrats!
Squier has the "Starter Pack" which consists of an Affinity and the Rumble 15w amp. For $105 you did OK
Just remember; No pics
Seriously though, welcome to the Deep End! We all hope you enjoy "getting to first bass". And if you could post some pics, I'm sure all of us who've given a bit of advice would love to see it
paint job and all.
