Private messages??

Private messages are now called "Conversations" or "Private Conversations" (PC for short). This is a default terminology for XenForo, and reflects the higher functionality that goes beyond a simple PM. You can access your conversations by clicking "Inbox" in the User Bar (very top of screen when logged in). You can also hover on your username and select "conversations".

Huh? NEVER download a program to do ANYTHING TalkBass related. You need no program to view your conversations. I'm sorry to say you probably have malware on your computer. Getting to your conversations is as simple as clicking on your username at the top userbar and then clicking "conversations".

Just today I started seeing an "add" at the top of the page that says something to the effect of "you are missing the required (something or other) to quickly access your private messages...and it has an envelope graphic. I hope I don't have malware...I just got a new mac cause I was so tired of all that crap happening to my PC.

That's the one I got too. It won't let me go to my PM's till i downloaded it. It made ASK.com my browser. I took it all off, (I think) then I ran a Malware scan. It happened again today when I tried to get into PM's today.
I know change is a good thing, and I know it has to come, but so far I'm just not in love with some of the major changes. Just not as easy as it used to be. More complicated.

How are you trying to get into your PM's (conversations)? Is there a banner ad masquerading as a PM inbox?

edit: I think I found the offending banner ad and have requested google to block it from our site. :(

I'm ad free on the computer but seeing this ad on the mobile device. Yeah, this has to go!

I read the "If it ain't broke" explanation. I get it.
Sometimes change is tough. Having been on Talk Bass since 2002, I've had a certain comfort level with the old site. I'm sure in time I'll have an equaly high comfort level with this version.
