Problems which are intermittant

I bought a Behringer 1202 4 channel mixer used (which may explain a lot) that sometimes distorts the channel input from my bass. I only use this mixer for input from cd or ipod to practice with bass. Now this morning, with no changes, it is working alright. Any suggestions, and any suggestions for a replacement? I use the mixer to EQ input from cd or ipod. I am pretty sure it is not worth trying to have fixed, as it only happens about once every three months, or so, Thanks.

Those mixers have a history of getting dirty connectors and pots that could be the cause. A good DeOxIt (spray contact cleaner) session will clear that up.

Depending on its history, there may be a cracked solder connection or two in there, usually on the connectors - PC mount jacks are a common intermittent problem with all MI gear.
