Double Bass Problems with worms in a Doublebass.

Hi friends!
I just bought an instrument that has worm holes in The neck block and The Bass bar.
My Luthier is taking care of that with some specific products, but...
Does anybody know how to deal with that?

+1, the worms are "harmless", but the adult insects usually aren't. And they will procriate.

How?

Even if the worm (or an egg, or an adult for that matter) gets trapped there during the construction, they'll first need to survive the heat and fume blast from the glue and then they need oxygen to survive. Without a hole they will suffocate.

I have flushed and sucked worms and eggs out of insect holes with a syringe and a hypodermic needle.
Works like a charm if there's not too many to deal with.
