Hi, sorry to whoever posted the tab on this site but its either really confusing or wrong!
Nerc - nerc's (thats me!!) version on taborama is almost 100% right cept for the chord at the end and note he slides from on the bass fill!
Here it is!

This takes ages to get right but bear with it! If youve ever learnt tripleting
and sixthing this ill be so much easier!

I can promise you this is 100% right!
First you need to get your left hand sorted. Bar all the strings over the 2nd
fret but make sure you arent hitting any harmonics, you just need a mute.
Now the tricky bit to get, you need to slap the e string, hammer on all 4 strings
but dont push them against any fret and let them go quickly, pop the g string and
then hammer all four strings as before.

Keep up a rythmn of slap, hammer, pop, hammerthrough all of the main riff apart from
the fills which go:
s = Slap
h = Hammer
p = Pop
t = Right hand tapping

Again takes a while to get the timing

Chorus and verse is repeated again and then the interlude:
First bit is a bend on the 3rd fret of the e, then a slide from 15 hitting the string
six times on the way down, followed by tapping 16 on the d and 17 on the g

it just takes a while to get the hang of it. Do what i said in the tab, the key is to get a good sounding mute off your slap then hammer on with your other three fingers and take them of as quick as you put them on! Just think of it as slap hammer pop hammer, slap hammer pop hammer, slap hammer pop hammer, etc.

Dont get down bout it, once i figured it out i sat for hours till i got it!

Its not bad man but theres a few things that need tweeking.

The verse riff looks more like this:

I also play the C and Eb chords going into the chorus as power chords. I'm not sure if Les does or not but it gives a fuller sound.

If you listen closely the chorus line is more like this

It definitely has an F to G feel in it.

The * chord is a bit hard to hear sometimes. If you listen to the ending where they repeat the first half of that bar, you can clearly hear that thats what he's playing.

The time before you go into the solo hit an Ab on the E string at the end.

I play the solo like this:

The hammer ons are muted clicks on about the 3rd fret. You can get some real speed doing this - much faster than the solo in the song.

The repeated slaps are a percussive effect. Mute all the strings with your left hand and move your right hand from near the end of the fretboard towards the nut, slapping on the beat wherever your hand happens to be at that time.

It then goes into

This was the first primus song and one of the first slapped songs that I learnt. Once you get the tecnique going youre fine. I used to sit around watching TV or whatever with my bass unplugged and play the solo pattern over and over again really slowly. Then pick up the speed and soon you can do it faster than the song.
