Hi.
Excuse my ignorance and old(ish) age, but are You younger guys livin' in a barrell or are you just plain wussies?
Or just wishing that someone would call and offer a gig? The first one ever?
When playing in rougher parties/clubs/bars, sometimes things can get out of hand, and the security just isn't there at that particular moment.
In fact, usually they have their hands full with that "particular moment" and the absolute worst would be if the music stops. Then it'd be a riot. No one wants that.
Not once AFAIK has the band left these incidents without being paid fully for the equipment broken or destroyed. I know I haven't.
As for kicking the living daylight out of the person tripping onto the stage, great if it's booze-mellowed dwarfs we're talking about, but being a pretty big guy myself, I'd think twice about stopping another 110Kg ape on speed just for the sake of argument.
Kicking or hitting a woman is also not recommended on most of the venues I know of. The dropped amp or scratched bass is going to be the least of Your problems after that mistake.
OP, for the ease of moving my rig and also for stability reasons, I sometimes tie the tower onto a dolly with a 2" ratchet tie-down. It may sway a little, but it won't fall over.
Regards
Sam
