hey guys i was wondering if theres any way i can run protools free on windows xp? on their site i only saw downloads for windows 98 and me and such, what gives?

I think you need Pro Tools compatible hardware to use ProTools, thereby eliminating the free part. There is an M Box that provides ins/outs and is one of the cheap solutions.

Sorry, no. It also used to be very picky hardware-wise. It was one of the reasons I never tried it.

PT Free is not for XP and never will, so you either buy a used Digi 001 on Ebay or downgrade to Win 98.
