This is a good deal! I really like my Graffiti Yellow Sonic P bass.
Me, too! Got one when the list price was $200 and a second when they went on sale for $140.

I am not new to Sonic (have the Ultra Violet Bronco with a zillion upgrades, and LOVE the thing)-always been tempted by the exclusive yellow one-what did you like (or hate) the most about it? Tempted to get it at the current sale before it totally sells out soon (green is gone, but I wasn't interested in it.) I would likely change some stuff regardless, but wanted to know from someone that actually owns it.
Is yours from China, Samick, or Cort-Tek? (Just curious, I have good stuff from all three.)

I’ve wanted a Graffiti yellow bass for a long time. I played with guitarist who had a Strat in that color and always thought it was super cool.
So I really like the color.
A Poplar body painted yellow would have cost about $400 from Warmoth so this seeemd like a decent deal.
The pickups are hot, and the get a decent Pbass tone. I actually prefer a little mellower tone so I might swap them out for something more traditional.
I swapped necks for a Classic 50s Pbass neck that I got from the Stratosphere shop on EBay a long time ago for a project that didn’t materialize, but I put the Sonic Pbass neck on a Squier Sonic blue (a little ironic) body, and the neck feels and plays great. The fret ends could use a little filing and the edges aren’t rolled, but it’s an inexpensive bass.
How do these actually sound though? I am all about finding a deal but I have also been making a point to buy nothing that does not add value. I am not sure this adds any value to my creativity or my process but I really want it too... LOL

Thanks for the reply, and also, my apologies for not replying in a timely manner.
I ordered one today! Somehow they weren't sold out yet at the super discounted rate (unlike last year during this time-it sold out fast.) The color is obviously not for everyone, but it is *for me*-I love loud designs while retaining some "classiness" (the "class" provided by the P bass shape itself, the loudness by this finish most seem to hate.) I still do not have any yellow guitar or bass, and since I am primarily a bass player, just went for it (if it was a strat-guitars which I also love-I prefer other finishes; though would love to have a Jackson Dinky in this yellow color!)
I also bought a Split P loaded pickguard from DiMarzio, because as many bad things I have read about it, I have been curious about that pickup for a LONG time. I do not think it will dethrone my Relentless P pickup P bass, but it's good that it won't be the same. Also am buying a rather affordable Fender Hi Mass bridge to add to the "modern" aspect I want for this loud bass (plus it's not much a hassle to change the pickup after all, if it comes to that.)
What you did with the neck truly interests me-would any old MiA/MiM P bass neck be compatible with the humble Sonic body? If so, I would be looking at them, for more awesomeness, though I will wait on that until I receive the bass. If most Fender necks fit without much trouble, it would be pretty sweet.
I am certain I will be updating this later when I get the bass. The color is great, I just was very hesitant because I do not need any other bass-but it's too affordable to pass up on it, and it fits my playing personality quite right (I know it will be inspiring to play to be sure.)

My yellow Sonic P bass had some problems in the neck-tall 17th fret, and most were rough-feeling ,(slightly sprouty, not hand ripping but not comfortable.) Rather than return it, I just ordered a Stratosphere Player II modified maple neck, so it no longer will have a Jazz bass style neck. Could have ordered a clean Precision to Jazz neck new, but the Stratosphere neck was slightly more affordable, has a TUSQ nut, and already installed hardware, so it's basically ready to play.
The Sonic Bronco/Precision necks are by most accounts very good, but this one wasn't given too much attention to detail (low budget, I got the lemon neck.) My own Sonic Bronco neck was much better, and I love playing on that humble neck-so no, the Sonic series does not "suck."
@shirojiro inspired me to do this mod, as I wasn't aware the "low tier" Sonic were compatible with any modern neck. However, had the Squier neck be at least good l, I would have waited longer for this switch. Love looking at it under lighting-the bright yellow shines even better. I admit I was a bit disappointed, but it seems to be light weight, so I just decided to keep it.

Wow sorry you got a lemon. My Bronco’s neck is awesome (was frankly surprised as it was on sale in ‘23, not a high or rough fret to be found. I twerked the truss just a tiny bit). Let us know how you make out. I started the thread and feel a tad responsible
