Punk bands that never get old?

What punk bands never seem to get old to you?


For me:

Lagwagon
Face To Face
NOFX
Pennywise
Bad Religion
The Unseen
Rise Against


I guess I'm a little bit "new school" when it comes to punk, but I can listen to those bands non-stop.

In fact, I just got done listening to "May 16th" by lagwagon, now I'm on to "Disconnected" by face to face.

In fact, I just got done listening to "May 16th" by lagwagon, now I'm on to "Disconnected" by face to face.

I'd agree with all of these, and "May 16" is one of my favorite songs ever! I'd add Propaghandi and The Gimme Gimmes to the list, but it'd be easiest for me to say any of the Fat Wreck comps.

I also have a hard time turning off anything from Hot Water Music or Avail.

edit: Oh! How could I forget Social D?! More straight-ahead rock'n'roll now, than punk, but always legendary!

The Misfits for sure, a lot of their songs are totally timeless.


I also like the punk bands who had more going on that just being a punk band, fusing a few different styles: The Clash, Minutemen, Talking Heads, and Dead Kennedys.

I just got done listening to "May 16th" by lagwagon

Great song. That whole album is awesome. Lagwagon is one of my top 5 favorite bands.

I actually got to see lagwagon on may 16th. He kept saying, "what day is it" and no one would answer him, it was funny. They finally played the song.

Im probably more in the "new school" of punk becuase thats what i grew up with. It wasnt until later that I learned to like bands like social D and dead kennedys. My fav 2 punk bands are definately Refused and Hot Water Music.

+1 on Minutemen, Descendents (and don't forget the mighty ALL) and Lagwagon. And, if we're doing poppy-punk, I'm throwing in the late Big Drill Car. Bob Thomson was one of my biggest influences on bass. Punk guy with a Warwick in the early 90s. CD Type Thing and Batch are must-haves from them.
