punk pickups

hey i have the hot for p-bass in my fender P and i think its an awesome punk tone..... Jay Bentley from Bad Religion uses the same pup in his bass.... and he's as punk as you can get...

Jay posted recently that he uses DiMarzio 122p's in his basses.

In 23 years OP’s punk band has disbanded, Mike kicked his heroin addiction, and Frank is now a Shanghai banker. Times change, but bass lives on.

Both are great in hohner b2b. Also need to mention what era and genre of punk are u going for? 70s sounds different than 80s uk or 80s California is different from both. Then there post punk, d beat, shoe gaze, 90s punk etc, how many members in band. All have different needs from the bass.

DiMarzio Model P+J for me. I have them with a 3-way switch and Series/Parallel switch. In Series and with a pre-amp I can get close to the tone I have dialed in on my StingRay Special 4HH... obviously not exactly, but its close.

Now I just play a stingray in my bedroom.
