PVH 212?

I've had the PVH212 for a week now, running it with a 700RBII. Loads of bass frequencies (ported cab with dense construction, figures) and good power handling, very impressed with the low extension. Compared to my GK Neo 212 it has less aggressive mids, so i bump up the high mids to get some grind while cutting the bass to reduce the boom. Very focused, and the most musical tweeter i have ever played...i love the tweeter on this cab!

Weighs 900 lbs. Im going to install some casters at some point. Its a tall cab too, easier to hear on stage.

Yeah, that street price of $579 is pretty much across the board now, but I found a great "open box" deal.

This cabinet has caster inserts, but no wheels included. I wonder what size to buy.

Also looking for a cover. I've done Tuki, Lecover and Studio Slips in the past. All good, but none have this cabinet in their data bases. When you have to send in your own measurements, there's always room for error.

I've been building my mini rig of doom for a while, but just cant find the right cabinet,, so my wife and I drove over to Sweetwater this afternoon and picked up a PVH210 to go with my Carvin BX500. I demo'd it with a couple of different basses, and took it home. Sounded good in the store, I'll put it through the wringer tomorrow and drop in with a review.

I have been head scratching over the PVH212.
Sure would like to see some more reviews here.
I don't trust the reviews elsewhere on the web.

Have been playing one, two, three or four single 15 cabinets with JBL K-140 and E-140 speakers in each, and want to try another cabinet.

I had a Peavey PVH212 for a couple of weeks sounded pretty amazing with the MM1000 Head. It does have the best tweeter I have heard in a bass cab. The lows were excellent even with my 5 string and it carried the low B with authority partly because of the MM head. I was so Impressed I now have 2 PVH 212's stacked for my main rig .

Just received mine the other day and I'm running it with a 700rbii. Very surprised with it so far, hitting the A note on the E string is just ridiculous, there's no possible way the neighbors on either side of me don't feel this. It has a good amount of punch, more than satisfying low's, (and I'm a 15 inch guy), good sounding tweeter and sounds like it will cut through in my bands mix top to bottom. The weight isn't all that bad and it's taller than a 410 or 115. Spring loaded handles seem stout. I have two complaints about the cabinet thus far, 1) The rat fur sucks! Lools wise...it fucntions fine. But, I want Tolex.....PERIOD! 2) The placement of the two front casters is the dumbest God damned thing Ive ever seen!!!! I 100% suggest you do not put a head unit atop this cabinet as it will literally tip forward and end your night. The placement of the front caster mounts are set too far back to make room for the front "feet" that it sits on. They could have brought the caster mounts more to the center about an inch on both sides and then moved them forward another inch to help stabilize it and make it less prone to tipping forward...not a deal-breaker yet but still considerable. Those 2 issues and well, its made in China but, what isnt anymore one way or another. I'm going to beat on it the next 45 days and see what happens. If it holds up , I may add a second one. I will also address the front caster mount issue as long as it doesn't impede the design or aesthetics of the cab...

Really? I bought one with the intention of eventually adding another, but it's pretty dang big! And heavy! I don't *need* a second 212, and it may not fit in the band trailer, but I'd love to have some speakers even closer to ear level. I got mine at a super "open box" price, but haven't found a second bargain yet.

I picked up a PVH 212 a couple of months ago and LOVE IT. I’ve played for 30 years and have used all kinds, makes and sizes of cabs. I’m currently running the 212 with a GK 1001rb, mxr compressor and Sansamp. Loud, clean, punchy, full range sound. The harder I push it, the better it sounds. Maybe not the best for funk/thumb but for other styles, especially heavy rock, this thing kills. I’m totally sold.

I know this is a year old thread, but I was wondering how this cab is handling the 1001RB (or any other head for that matter). Is the cab easy to hump up/down stairs? Any info would be well appreciated!
