I really should try having my Ictineo first in chain

I always took the approach of compression first (phasers and the like notwithstanding), but with the control points of the Opti being what they are, how noise free it is and the range of control I have vs other comps that I've traditionally used, I finally have a choice. It makes the threshold obviously more sensitive, but there's something else there. I was ready to immediately sell the pre a few days ago until I did the switcharo.

Using this as a home studio board, mostly for bass, but also for guitar.

Bass signal path: BASS > LMB-3 > B1on > M5 > ART Tube preamp/DI > Yamaha StagePas 500 console (earphones output). When switching to GTR, I simply flip a cable from the B1on to the 50G into the M5 and plug into the Mosaic.

Bass sounds pretty good through this, good enough to be used at a band rehearsal if needed. I mostly use the M5's chorus, phaser and flanger on bass and there's enough tweaking options in there to make'em sound quite decent. I got my second 1-Spot unit today for this board, the other unit is powering my main board (featured in post #6345).

(EDIT: I briefly tried the Acoustikar and the Mosaic on bass, together and separately. Definitely not the best bass pedals around but then again, it ain't part of their job description either )

Ha, the Megalith ... you could stash jazz cabbage for a Jamaican village (or Tricky) in there.

The ED is soooo good ... The black ones were a super short run only whenever he switched to the smaller enclosures, I think?
Only other one I've seen was UC's on ILF.

RML - I only have the Mig Fuzz. That doesn't get weird, at least not with me, it's an amazing dirt box though - with lots of flavors on tap.

Just finished building a pedal board from some scrap wood...wanted to build something a bit larger size-wise, thus not needing to upgrade despite a growing pedal collection.

Now I gotta find the best way to secure these bad boys...

I may be in the minority here, but I prefer keeping the wood finish on pedal boards - especially when they have interesting color and character like that. The wood is dark enough that you could secure everything with velcro or dual lock and it won't contrast too badly with the natural finish of the PB.

Thanks! The wood is nothing special ("cheap" was my friends answer to the question), ended up repurposing two 10' x 9" shelves so not sure exactly which type...

We worked to achieve the high contrast in the wood grain by hitting it with a blowtorch prior to a light stain (don't try this one at home kids!).

That's what the Valve Caster is for, including helping me trigger the JoshWah with the Broughctave and CT5. The JoshWah needs no help triggering from just straight bass signal or Broughctave really, it just sounds like it responds quicker with the Valve Caster boosting into it.

I love the Afterneath. I don't like traditional reverb sounds on bass or even delay sounds, but the Afterneath is at the perfect medium and it's awesome.

Yes, at least to the Bitquest. The difference is mainly in the effect. The Bitquest is an emulation of a room size, with added modulation to it. The Afterneath is clusters of short delays, and with those you're capable of blending them into the semblance of a normal reverb sound, or keeping the different pings of the delay clusters intact and gloriously gloomy.

awesome looking boards on this thread! It inspired me to rewire mine over the weekend. I finally bit the bullet and installed a second PP2+ on my PT3, so that I could get more than 8 pedals on there. Its pretty nice to have isolated power for all this stuff, and the board is KILLIN. Loving the sounds coming off it. need a few more patch cables to tidy it up properly, but so far so good!

Chain is bass > tuner > empress comp > lehle volume > switch: Channel 1 (POG > octabvre > wonderlove), Channel 2 (chroma > sonic spark > Omni Sim), Channel 3 (Flint, carbon copy bright), > Ditto.
