That's true, and I've definitely seen cases where pedals worked when underpowered according to the stated specs. At the same time, they can be unreliable that way.

I've done my H9s at 9V/400 mA on a VL PP Mondo and 9V/450 mA on an MXR ISO Brick with no problems, if I recall correctly. But 9V/300 mA seems low.

I am able to power an H9 with 300ma on a Cioks DC5 with no issues!

Loove it! It's something of a secret weapon of mine. It's a killer distortion and a pretty good chorus pedal all in one. The parallel switch makes all the difference in the world!

I got mine years ago. From what I can tell it's a hybrid of a RAT based circuit and an analog chorus. There is a delay variant (The Session Man SS-20). Same thing as the SS-10 but with delay. However, a clone of the two exists!

I like this modular setup a lot. A small "gigging" board for normal gigs, and a more extensive looping/ambient board to tack on to the end for any gigs that call for this level of self indulgence. you cant see the Fdeck under the metro20, which comes right after the octabvre.

That's really interesting - I did the same thing a while back (big board for looping gigs, small gig board). Haven't dont any looping gigs for a while, maybe I'll pull it out and play with it again.

My gig board. I'm one of the odd few who doesn't have at least one dirt pedal on mine.
I'm pretty happy with the setup.

I have a Broughton HPF on the board for any gigs where I'm not using my Mesa WD-800 (which has a built in variable HPF). The black box behind the board (right side) is phantom power for my Zon.

The max current required is dependant on the function operating. For most simple actions like recalling a preset, or changing a setting you would likely be fine. For instances possibly memory dumps, firmware updates and complex scenarios (MIDI iniand out, expression, bluetooth and stereo processing all at once) you would likely need much closer to the required current.

Lots of pedals need a current bump to get booted, then run at lower requirements to perform their pleasing duties.

Pedalboard for a busy weekend 2 jam sessions and a 70-80's funk/dance/oldies private party. A real mix of old and new got two old pedals that are bona fide 80's world travelers literally ripped out of the old case the Boss PSM5 with a buffer added* and the Ibanes CS9 my fave chorus. In the PSM5 loop are the TCE SUb N Up Mini, Mel9, SA Aftershock, BassBalls 3 knob, Digitech BSW- loop return.

*One of the many hats I wore at Showco was putting together effects pedal boards and rack systems for touring artists. I remember grabbing one of these little beauties for myself early on and started using them on boards i put together along with an MXR Noise Gate Line Driver. That pairing resulted in quieter pedal boards that suffered less insertion loss because of the line driver or as they are referred today as buffer. So the tech's at Showco started modding the PSM5 by adding a buffer circuit.

If that's true that's way under the suggested specs. The suggested specs are 4.5 W (500 mA at 9V or 375 mA at 12V).

Can confirm that the H9 will run on the 300ma output of the Aetos.

Ok so my power supply came in...and I think I may go with this setup instead and use the Tech 21 VT Bass on a mini board. Much less clutter.

Small addition but big in meaning, to me anyways: adding the MXR Stereo Chorus makes this my 1st PB ever sporting only my favorite pedals, after 10 years of trying, buying, selling, trading and losing money. Favorite dirt, chorus, filter, octave, comp and multi. Of course, in no way am I saying this set-up is my definitive board...
