PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

So replaced my nautila with bass clone and mini flanger back with the bead fuzz as I don't really use flanger...
I had the expert idea of plugging in extra cords through my pitch black to my wah and bass whammy I run off the board occasionally as it would mean everything powered through one connection... but booooo the inputs are in the wrong side so only way I could make it work is with the pedals upside down
I'll just have to stick with battery for the wah and the bass whammy own power supply for the time being.
I have been away from TB for quite a while but still playing bass every day. This is the board I have been using lately:

My brother came over to jam on drums for a bit yesterday, and here's what I was working with. Was both of our first times playing with another human since the virus started. I can't begin to describe how good of a feeling it was to finally flex those muscles again and get loud with another person, especially my with brother who is my favorite drummer in the world. One interesting thing is how much we've each individually added to our repertoire during the past year, alone in our own practice spaces. He brought a bunch of new techniques to the table, and has obviously been woodshedding a ton. Meanwhile, I had a chain of pedals most of which I hadn't used in a mix with another musician yet.
So, on to the pedals. Did a lot of octaver jamming, as that's what perked up his ears initially. The Octavbre punched through the mix better, but the T-65 was more subby and shaking the walls. I'm so proud of both, neither of us wanted me to turn them off. It was a bit of a revelation, as I've spent a lot of the past year working with analog sub-octaves and it was great to hear all that work pay off. The Keeley comp and Alpha-Omega were always on, and sounded very sweet next to some drums. However, the dirt of the night was the Doom 2. That thing is incredible. He kept referring to it as the "stank button". Just an incredible fuzz, and last night cemented it into my signal chain for good, or until a 3 comes out. Best, most robust pedal of the night, though? The Xerograph. Man, it did everything I want a filter to do. I was adjusting on the fly, and after hours (weeks? months?) of getting very familiar with the pedal. It was the clear winner, and provided probably the nicest groove of the night.
All in all, it was a great and very freeing release to play with another person again. I know this is a long post, and not just a pedal board picture, but I figured my pedal-comrades would enjoy hearing about the experience. And the pics of my rig, of course:

I really like the Iron Hatchet. Ive found the Iron Hatchet to have the most volume/power of any 250 I've tried and it has a few mods. It has a switch that filters 120hz at 6db to cut some of the mud that can happen from, in my case, diming the volume on my MFD pickups. I also had the 2nd cap spot socketed so I can try different values to see what works best, so far I like the 4700pF cap the most.
I love using the IH as a boost as well. For my set up when I hit the MBD2 with the IH it takes the tone to what I'd like to describe as 3D. MBD2-3D
I've always wanted to try the Yellow. Maybe someday.
Great write-up. Totally relatable. I had my first jam with another human in almost a year the other night too. Only difference is it was my 9 year old daughter on violin. After regularly playing along with her exercises and encouraging anything musical, the other night we finally clicked on the magic. She showed me a new rhythmic oriented exercise she had with a scale and we were playing in unison as usual until after a few times, I started taking some rhythmic liberties to compliment the rhythm of the exercise and she lit up immediately noticing that we were "jamming." After that I comped some chords for her and encouraged her to explore notes and rhythms of scales as a solo and she saw the light. Violin practice has gone from 10 minutes per week to 30 minutes a day since then and I'm overjoyed...but yeah, playing with others is incredible!
I am fortunate enough to be vaccinated at this point and currently have plans to get together with my keyboardist from my college band and a guitar player friend (all who are vaccinated) on Saturday for some jamming. I'm sofa king excited!!!
As a friend, I'm going to say you need to embrace MIDI. I believe MIDI will open doors for you to universes you didn't know existed.
@Matt Dean hows the IE Dub-mothership? You always have things on your board that open my eyes to more builders and discover new items in the effect world. Always cutting edge stuff.
I've been eyeballing the Dubterrograph, since the moment it was announced, and I really want to buy it. But I just got my Dubterranea, a few months ago, and it feels a little excessive. XD
The Dubterrograph has a learning curve... I've been using the three-knob Xero for years as a sweepable filter, so the Dubmo is going to take some exploration before I get it dialed in. I will say that the Dub side sounded glorious.
The DubTerrograph IS the Xerograph Deluxe and the Dubterranea wired into a single box. The only advantage is that they are wired together but stlil have an in and an out if you wanted to put them in a different order or something else in the middle. If you own a Xerograph Deluxe and a Dubterranea, you own the modular version of the DubTerrograph
Just for the yucks, here is a board from 2018... I kinda wish I had a couple of these pedals back.
