Hey guys I had some labellas on my bass vi but I decided just for fun to try the pyramid gold set.

So I received them and all is good but the ball ends are so fat that I need to engage the vibrato so that they can fit in, and then the vibrato technically stays slightly engaged and doesn’t really work properly now.

My bass vi is a fender custom shop version, so it’s not like a weird brand with a weird bridge. And ultimately I don’t really use the vibrato, but it seems odd they would make a string for one exact bass and they don’t actually work for that bass…

should I reach out and ask if they make the same set with small ball ends? Or just return them? Have any of you guys dealt with the pyramid contact us email?

Also anyone else had this issue? I know the Bass VI is a bit niche but for $110 CDN, it’s not a cheap set of strings…

Ok I realize there has been no activity on here but I have an update.

I reached out to pyramid and they are going to make me a proper set with guitar ball ends and I actually asked them to make the E string a .100 and they are all doing this at no charge and shipping them out once made.

Im actually blown away at this. So anyone looking for strings and haven’t tried pyramid, their customer service is amazing. And on top of that their strings are great too. Also love that you can order custom gauges from them without trouble.

Hmm... I've got Pyramid Golds on my Squier CV Bass VI and the large "bass sized" ball ends fit just fine and rotate freely. I guess they must be using a slightly different (cheaper) bridge on the Squiers.

But yes, it is a bit strange that Pyramid use larger ball ends on the Bass VI sets when they use smaller guitar sized ball ends on their regular short scale Gold sets.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm not surprised. Pyramid's customer service is outstanding! The are THE string manufacturer to contact if you have any special requests, like unusual gauges/winding lengths. They also have a huge selection of strings for folk/ethnic instruments.

Great quality strings, superb customer service!

Yeah I asked for a .100 E string too and they are going to do it. I’m blown away.
