Some reviews on Thomann site Pyramid Rockshort N

I don't have any hands-on experience with Pyramid strings, though I've been curious to try some of their sets for a while now.

Browsing through strings on the Thomann site and comparing to Pyramid's bass string catalog, the "Rock" name seems to be synonymous with their heavy sets. Heavy is 45-105 in Pyramid's books. I guess heavier strings rock harder?

If you have any experience with their long scale 45-105 pure nickel strings, that might tell you a bit about what the short scale Rockshort N set will sound and feel like. There is also Rockshort S which is 45-105 stainless steel.

Well, here's an update...

All in all, I'm not impressed.

From a sonic standpoint they are fine but not outstanding. I'd take Stringjoy and/or SIT over these Pyramids any day of the week.

A bit rough under the fingers, not too bad. More tension than SIT but less than Stringjoy.

Their longevity is to be determined yet, but I do have a feeling that these strings will last for quite a while.

The quest for the perfect fitting strings for the old LPB continues...
