Hello folks,
the very short one:
1. Main topic:
i could need advice in how to re-pack new strings that were just used for a few little days. (edit: i use stainless steel strings )
second optional topic:
2. how do i save strings on unused basses, that they don´t get sticky, old, .....feeling rubbish. ( living in the city with oily air from trolley bus)
full post:
i want to use/test a new set of Strings, and put them, later on back into a bag.
but since i know me, probably not by packing string by string, but more like: the whole pack of 5 rolled into one roll, then put into a plastic bag or so.
Would these strings age more afterwards ? (original packaging is: paper-envelopes per string. ( so, not air sealed)
Should i care ? should i take special attention how i pack these new strings back afterwards ? ( in a roll of all 5)
the second topic:
i live in the city, we have oily air here ( from trolley bus).
it seems that my unused basses ( i have an old cheap unused 6 string, and 4 string fretless) seem to get sticky strings, when not used.
Anything i should do about that ?
3. the third topic: (related to point 2, maybe also to point 1)
i´m new to use string maitenance/lubricants.
i have: GHS fast fret ( use it after each play) / and: Dunlop ultraglide 65 ( quasi not used yet)
any other i should have a look ?
( i´m back to play bass since 5 months, ......i´ve not cared for anything in my first (real) Bassist live)
Thanks for reading........
