QI - TB edition.

For those who haven't seen the British television programme, it basically about trivial but interesting facts that most people won't know.

Here is a start for the TB version - it's off topic so it doesn't need to be about bass.

* only female Mosquitos bite you. They do this through a thinner than wire "posboscis" which is basically a needle. You probably don't feel them biting you. This is because the fluid they inject to your skin first anaesthestises you.

They feed on your blood so that they can feed their eggs and young, which live in their stomach.
The only two known reasons for mosquitoes in the food chain are to feed other animals (frogs, snakes, etc) and to transmit disease to keep the equilibrium of life on this planet.

Now, interesting stuff from you?.

Wow, there's some pretty fundamental misunderstanding of biology in that statement. Can I ask where that came from, just out of curiosity? I tried googling it but came up with nothing.

Rats are very good swimmers. They can hold their breath for three minutes and can swim above water constant, for up to three days.
Yes, they can come in your house through the toilet. They stop at bends wear there are air pockets for them to breath, then continue their journey.
Enjoy your sit on the toilet. :smug:

Damn rodents! Eating my cheese and mating in my amps...... not to mention how some of them are better at bass than me :bag:

You can pick your friends. You can pick your nose. You cannot pick your friends' noses.

Wouldn't that really depend on the friend?

It's kinda like the old saw that claims, 'Women. You can't live with them and you can't run them through the wood chipper." I think this really depends on the woman. Not that I've ever run a woman through a wood chipper; at least not all the way. Just enough to get her to shut up. She was a real toughie though. We were well past her knees before she agreed to stop with the nagging. To her credit however, she has honored her agreement. But I am not at all surprised given she can't run away and I've still got the wood chipper.

Just saying not all truisms are absolute.

I guess you're never one to post a "NBD: My Wife is gonna kill me" thread.

Are you kidding me?? Wifey owns me lock, stock, and barrel, but she is really, really, really good to me so it's not like it's a bad thing. She sees life's excesses as not excessive as long as it doesn't hurt the long range financial plan (which is all her), with my enthusiastic approval. If I ran the money we'd live in a pup tent next to a warehouse full of bass gear and old Harleys

She also has my heartfelt promise to always behave when I'm with her.
