QOTSA

This is a bit off-topic, but how bad is Josh Homme's voice in a live setting. I really liked band after Rated R was released and always wanted to see them, but when I finally saw them, I was so disappointed with Josh and his voice. He could hardly hit one correct note!

Anyway, I'm not digging the new line-up at all. The drummer is a far cry from Dave Grohl and I think that I liked Nick's prescence in the band better Reeder even though Reeder is pretty good himself. I think overall that Lullabies is their worst album even though I really like a small handfull of the songs, the rest of the album is pretty bad.

I have a love/hate relationship with this newest release. I think some of the songs are either awful or forgotable. Some are the best they've ever written.

I imagine losing the only other member left from the original lineup had an effect on that.

Nick wasn't in the original lineup though. He joined after the first album, even though he can be seen on the back of the CD.

I was a little put off my Lullabies at first but I really like it now.

News to me. I thought he was even credited to the bass work in the liner notes. I could be wrong.

He's credited all throughout the liner notes of Rated R for bass and songwriting credits, as well as having a few pics of him in there.

Yeah, I would never see Queens live on the basis of all the live footage I've seen/heard. Josh Homme never sounds good at all. He seems like it's his first time playing guitar/singing at the same time, all the time.

I'm going to disagree. I have live vids of Mexicola, No One Knows, Regular John, The Sky is Falling, Hanging Tree, Tension Head, Feel Good Hit of the Summer, and Autopilot. I think he sounds good, not a great singer to begin with, but he works with what he has.

Just my opinion, and I don't have high standards for live vocals if the singer is playing an instrument.

i seen him play a show on the tv and it didn't seem horrible. Keep in mind is it even possible to sing the way he does on albums with stage volumes and such?.

BUrn the witch seems like a cheezy attempt at garage rock :D

QOTSA i think have problems making good songs, there style is great but i don't think on average there a band with above average song writing just way better style. There not gonna beat rated R
the same way nirvana couldn't beat nervermind.

where can i find? must have.

They are mostly from festivals that were on TV. My favorite is "The Sky is Falling" from 2003. It's from a show at a small club.

I found those on Limewire. They will not all show up a once, and you have to keep trying to find them. Once you do, getting them to download at a tolerable speed is a chore.

If it goes really slow, I just leave my Limewire open as long as it takes.

I dislike John Garcia's voice so I don't like Unida or Hermano.

His voice is a bit different, but that's probably why I like it. I haven't met more than 2 other people who actually like John's voice and they are in my band so it all works :)

Lullabies is a good disc but not their best. I like that they are getting back to the more instrumental approach and not writing as many pop songs but then again the bass work has really been simplified and it doesn't groove as well as if Nick was still int he band.

The heavy riffs and the trippy instrumentals were my favorite parts of Kyuss. Demon Cleaner is the only exception, for some reason I dig the vocals on that track.

I saw them live in May and as far as the bass playing it switched between their bass player and the lead guitarist played bass on little sister i think and then the lead singer played bass on a few songs too. I don't think their new bassplayer is as good as the old one. But the rest of them rocked and the drummer is pretty awesome too cuz its not like dave was ever in the band he only did that one record right? And as for the new album i agree with the its better then 90% on the radio and if u like them then u'll probably think the new one is alright.
