QSC amps

Timely post for me. I happen to be ordering a QSC PLX1202 today. Here's how I came to that decision. When I needed a preamp for my upright I got the fabulous little Fishman Platinum Bass Pro EQ. I used it with my Eden head by bypassing the Eden pre-amp. As it turned out I liked that set up with my electric rig too. Wouldn't you know it, but a few months later my Eden has developed a pre-amp problem so I have been using the Eden power and Fishman exclusively for electric and upright. I like it so much that I'm ordering the QSC to match permanently with the Fishman. I'll get the Eden repaired and then I'll sell it. Go figure!

IMO, no amp should be placed directly on a bass cabinet, due to the pounding they take. Put your butt on the cab for a few tunes, and you'll see what I mean about pickled parts.


I 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th the motion. One of the main advantages of a power amp or head is to get your amp out of a combo environment. Over time it's like kicking you amp down the stairs. I set it on the ground before I'd set it on a cab.

I use a pair of old keyboard wrist rests...the thick, floppy neoprene kind. Cheap (free) and work exceptionally well at isolating my rack from the cabs.

Well perhaps it's my cabs that are the issue, they are flite and really push the wind. But my solution was a $10 handweight stand gotten from an athletic local chain store.
It's black and the right angle to point the head at the right angle. And I must say it looks cool too! LOL
But the amp is totally transparent, anyway who needs a stack when the cabs are so slim.

Hmm? Price is right. Handweights, you mean like dumbells? Does if fold up?
