Query: Line6 LD 110 with Mixer

As the cabinet output is XLR and Mixer input is 1/4, how can the Line6 LowDown Studio 110 be connected to Mixer? Does a DI box required? If yes, where it should be connected? Please explain on what output needs to be connected to what input (like that of BG, LD110, DI, Mixer)

What is best BG processor? How good is the Line6 LD 110?

First identify whether the mixer's 1/4" input is balanced (TRS) or unbalanced (TS). This info is in the manual. If the input is balanced, use a cable that has XLR at one end and TRS at the other end. If the input is UNbalanced, you may still be able to use the same cable; but in some cases (depends on the mixer) you may get better results by using a re-amp box, which is basically a DI box in reverse--it converts balanced to unbalanced. Again though, that might not be necessary in your case, so try first with just the cable.

Normally mixers have a number of XLR inputs (for microphones) use one of those for the DI XLR out from the Studio 110. That is best.

If you have used all the XLR channels on the mixer - and have only line inputs remaining. Then as explained by bongomania you need to look at the mixer manual to see if the Line Inputs on Jacks are balanced or unbalanced. This is next best.

You could try the Preamp out jack socket on the Studio 110 to your mixer.

I have used my Studio 110 a lot in a live band situation with it connected to the main PA out of the XLR DI out on the Studio 110 to the MIC input (XLR) on the mixer. I no longer use it that way as it was struggling to get over the drummer bashing away.
