Question! 1992 Ibanez MIJ

Found a 1992 Ibanez TRS Made in Japan bass. The seller is asking $250. The bass is in good shape.

My question is this a good investment or maybe just a good old bass or do I pass?

Looks like a nice bass as long as the neck is straight and the electronics work.
Side note, you’ll probably be happier if you stopped looking at it as an investment and just viewed it as an expense that you can justify.

A friend of mine had one of these sitting in his rehearsal room. It has had a bad life, the marks it bore on its body spoke of abuse.
I took it home one day, cleaned it, put on a set of strings (old ones from my perspective, but fresh ones compared to what was on there). I could not get a low action, however. With the saddles lowered all the way and the truss rod maxed out, I could get it to intonate right and play, but with a high action.
I have no clue if that has been the result of 25 years of Rock'n Roll or if the bass was made that way.
