question about a switch

I must confess to being an idiot when it comes to switches; for some reason, they confuse me.

I recently rewired my bass (homemade fretless with two humbuckers), which has two mini-switches for series/single coil/parallel. I took the pots out entirely and now would like to rewire the switches to make them on (series)/off/tone. The tone setting would have a capacitor to roll off highs, as if a tone control were maxxed.

The bass was previously wired like a Jazz bass, but I only used three settings: bridge, combined, or bridge. I don't blend much, so I figured an on/off switch for each pickup would allow me to do what I do without the loading of pots. Being largely a reggae player, I often roll off the highs, so it would be nice to be able to use the switches as tone controls.

Can anyone give me advice on how to rewire these switches to make them on/off/tone?
