question about audio and video synch

so my question is, is there any free software I can use to synch my audio and video??

I use a sony handycam for recording my video and used audacity and my cheap UCA202 audio interface and everything worked well..

i tried to synch my audio and video using windows live movie maker but its really a pain in the ass..

If you're linux friendly, Cinelerra gets high marks for being a "pro" video app. (Comparable to Final Cut).

I've never used it, but heard very, very good things.

That, of course means you'll need to get a Linux distro up and running on your windows box.

You could probably burn and boot a CD-bootable version of Ubuntu to see if it's viable, (if your machine likes Linux) without having to install linux on your PC.

FTR, I'm a Mac / Final Cut Pro guy. Wicked good, wicked expensive.

Windows Moviemaker has worked perfectly for me and is a piece of cake. Pull up video and import audio. Your video will have a seismograph, and the imported audio will too. They should look very similar. Just drag the audio track in line with the video`s. Turn the blend knob accordingly. Done.
