Question about bridge and two cabs

Hey,

So i have PA that can be bridged and two cabs (2x Ashdown mag 410).

Amp doesnt have bridged output, in bridged mode cable can only be connected to those two red thing
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

So how do i connect two cabs? For example i buy two cables with speakon on one end and and nothing on other and connect both to those red things?

so the speakon outs don't bridge out? Only the banana jack style (binding) outputs support bridged out? That's what the photo appears to show.

If so, the easy way is to get some male banana jack (2 pair) and you can stack them in the bridge position of the binding outputs. You can likely buy the speaker cables ready made w/banana posts, have certainly seen them around most of the music stores, if not, they're easy to make.

BTW, what is the impedence of the cabs? Are they 8 ohms each or 4 ohms each?

Yep speakons dont bridge, only bannanas

And cabs are 8omhs each.

The thing is if i connect speaker cable to that banna i can connect it only to one cab. So im thinking of making some box with two outputs and connecting that bridged out of amp to those outputs

Most cabs have parallel inputs... you'd just daisy chain.
Banana -> speakon into cab one (c1), speakon c1 -> speakon c2.
(swap in 1/4" as necessary.)

Do those Ashdowns only have one input jack? Can't google up an answer...

Hey Klocwerk, glad we're teaming up on this one instead of duking it out, LOL

If the cabs don't have parallel jacks you can simply stack the banana plugs in the amp output, those male connectors also have a stackable female on them. I know this is starting to sound kinky but that's the way they work........

looks like they're parallel, one's a speakon the other a standard 1/4 inch, just run a 1/4 to 1/4 inch speaker cable from one cab to the next et voila.

You have to be careful though. Many bridgeable amps have a different minimum impedance in bridge mode than in normal mode. (ie; 8 Ohm minimum)

Double check to be sure!

The question most relevant is can the power amp handle a 2Ω load per channel??? If it can then bridge into 4Ω (two 8Ω loads) is permissible. If each channel is limited to 4Ω then only one 8Ω load is possible. Always use speakons when running in bridge and not 1/4" phone plugs. They are not safe.
