Question about compressor in effects loop... TS/TRS/XLR?

I picked up a Black Lion Audio Seventeen compressor for my rack, As you may or may not know, it only has XLR input and output. I want to run it in the effects loop of my WD-800. My previous compressors, I ran a standard TS in and out (even though the compressor connections were TRS) and it worked just fine (e.g: unbalaced). I need to buy 1/4" to XLR cables now, but I'm a little befuddled as to what I need. Can I run 1/4" TRS to XLR connected to the WD-800 or do I need 1/4" TS to XLR? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes but the wiring has to be compatible with the compressor I/O topology.

See: Sound System Interconnection I believe examples 5 and 13, assuming pin 2 hot. Take a look at example 3 as well.

The chance of getting noise is higher when running a wired adapter.

The preferred solution to use a transformer to convert the signal.

You might resort to something like this if you can't figure out how to get adapters to work.
