Question about Low-Tuning in G#

Yeah those gauges are okay, in drop G# the tension rises from 35 to 47 pounds low to high, which is unbalanced but is similar to many traditional string sets and so probably similar to what you are used to. The total tension is fairly standard and will not harm the bass. Top load bridge is good :) Choosing a .160 as a starting point is a good idea.

Please let us know what the big Pyramid .160 is like, i am curious about their big strings.
