Of course, "consider" doesn't mean "attempt empirical verification." And I would suggest considering plausible possibilities, not EVERY possibility. But a well-adhered traditional possibility warrants consideration.

Hey, there are plenty of honest agnostic scientists who at least admit they can't KNOW an omnipotent creator doesn't exist... But some choose to be a "denier" lol....

Several anti-religion/anti-belief posts (some thinly-veiled; others not so much) always pop up in these kinds of threads as well. I would hope that the "no religion" rule goes for both religious AND anti-religious commentary.

As I have stated previously, the lobby has had several very deep and thought provoking threads, with contributions from both sides...and at all times there had been a mutual respect.

The problem is that here in OT, the riff-raff go unchecked :|

Have you or your fruends ever conducted an experiment whereby something evolved and you got repeatable results as compared to the control?

Show me all of the"evolutionary" parts that have been added in the last hundred years. All you will find is subtraction for the most part. This goes against the "pond scum to ape" religion that you believe. Genetiscists tell us now that according to latest research we only have 69% similar dna to an ape, humorously the same as a banana.

It's a common misconception, apparent here in this thread again sadly, that 'human came from monkeys'.

The concept of common ancestry is lost on those who refuse to consider things like the fossil record, radioactive dating and DNA mapping as cause to think there might be something in this evolution thing :|

Why can't mankind live within nature. Why does he harm the environment unlike any other creature on the planet? I know some will correctly say it's our intelligence but then why has nature spawned a being that can do what we do in the first place?

Was this an accident of nature? Is it just un natural? Is there a larger plan by mother nature? What are your feelings and insights into this topic?

HUMANkind (it is no longer appropriate to use the male-only specific) is PART of nature.

If we were not, we would not be here.

However, due to our characteristics and intelligence, we have had more impact on the REST of nature than any other species.

There is no "Mother Nature", an anthorpomorphic image used in literature and occasional commercials. There is just nature. We're part of it.

And there are plenty of scientists who are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu - I've had the pleasure of working with people from many different creeds.

Some people like to mock and ridicule others and what they believe. I don't think that is ever a good idea, even though I screw up and fall in to that sometimes.
Some people misrepresent the theory of evolution and claim it says we came from monkeys. They may have pictures of goofy looking monkeys and other things that they think are funny. The whole idea is to mock those who accept the theory of evolution. It's great to get a laugh from people who agree with you but actually closes doors of communication with others.
They are usually the same people who compain bitterly if someone makes fun of what they believe.
It is always better to listen to what others have to say with respect and consideration. Of course if someone is telling me all people of a certain race, class or belief are somehow subhuman and can be disregarded I am not going to respond in a respectful manner.
