Just trying to get something cleared up here.
I've read several threads about how mixing cabs isn't a good idea because the power that goes out to each one would be different, thus pushing one cab harder than it needs to.
Here's my question:
If I have a 4-10 and a 2-10, why isn't it okay to use them together?
My head puts out 320 watts at 8 ohms and 480 watts at 4 ohms.
Am I understanding correctly that it means that if you have two cabs each at 8 ohms, it makes a total of 4 ohms, and then it's going to send 240 watts to each of those cabs making a grand total of 480 watts?
If this is the case, why would it push one cab harder than the other, if both are rated strong enough to handle the 320 watts my head's pushing out if i were to use them on their own?
the rating on each of them is like this:
400w 8ohm (2-10)
700w 8ohm (4-10)
If this is a simple stupid answer then I apologize, and if it's perfectly okay to do, then sweet. It's just something that I've been wondering about...
