question about pre/post eq on amp

Hey all, I am running a genz Benz smax 6 through an avatar tb153 wit an Eden wtdi on the effects loop master of the amp. If I have my switch on the amp set to pre eq, and am feeding the house in a live gig my di out of the wtdi, will the house then get my signal with the amp eq applied? Or will they only get what comes from the wtdi?

Only what comes from the WTDI.

In fact you will not get any signal from the ShuttleMax DI when in the pre-eq position as the master effects return signal to the power amp comes after the tap-off point of the pre-eq DI.

Hope this helps.

Hey thanks for the info although I am still trying to figure this out, If I want the house to have my shuttlemax eq'd signal as it exisits with the wtdi eq applied then I do I set the amp to post eq and give them my di out of the amp? Is that correct? Thanks!

Basically I want the house to get my signal as I hear it coming out of my amp.

Your other choices are:

1. WTDI eq only, this is available either from the WTDI itself or inserting the WTDI into the Max's master effects return and setting the amp to post-eq. You won't get the eq of the Max this way because using the fx terurn as a power amp in bypasses the Max's eq and tone shaping filters.

2. Insert the WTDI into either of the channel efx returns, that point is right before the channel's eq so you now have additional eq and the tone shaping filters if you choose post-eq DI out on the Max.

3. Take the output of the WTDI into one of the two channels and now you have additional (maybe too much) tone options.
