Double Bass Question about Thomastic Infeld Spirocore on a NS design EU6.

I am new to EUB and I am looking at a 6 string set of TI Spirocores medium. BEADGC for an NS design EU6 I plan on buying soon.

Now I can see that c means high c

There is a C1 and an H1/H2. I think I figured out that the C1 is a low C for light guage and H1 /H2 is a low B. light and low B medium. Is this correct?

Is there a reason why they call it H and not just B? Is H the common notation for a low B string in the double bass world?

Does anyone have any other recommendations for 6 string set for the EU6?

FYI, I would live with the default strings for a year or so, but I am not at the liberty of carting this thing back and forth to Japan to get it fitted and tuned by a professional for a different string set. I would do this if I could find a someone trust worthy or good enough in the country I am in right now. And also if I did not have to worry about weight /size restriction on the airplane and the usual hazard of mishandling of instruments on an airplane. Sadly I can't find anyone and the arguing with damaged equipment with the airlines is a waste of time.

BTW - I didn't find I needed any adjustments to my NXT-5 when changing from 'Contemporary' to 'Traditional' strings. Possibly that means it wasn't set up optimally for the original strings, and still isn't, but it works for me. Neither the truss rod nor bridge adjustments are especially challenging...

Other than possibly a minor height adjustment you could easily do yourself I very much doubt you'd have to modify the bass in any way to switch from the stock strings to Spirocores.

I'd buy these strings from Invalid Link Removed and take advantage of their experience with both Spirocores and NS basses and the excellent advice they can give you on this question.

Thanks for all the information. Never thought about it but I take it that the German language has a lot of input in the double bass world.

I will look into Gollihur. Not a lot of places actually carry the EU series, especially the 6 string. I guess it is not a common, after all it is a hybrid electric / up right and 6 string electric basses are not that common either.
