Question for Devi Ever Hyperion Owners

Hi all!

I was wondering if any of you has a Dwarfcraft-era Devi Ever Hyperion fuzz. I have one of the older versions and I wanted find out what Dwarfcraft changed the capacitor values to in order to make the circuit more bass-friendly. If anyone has one of these pedals, pics or measurements would be immensely appreciated!

I have one of these. Not sure about the answer to your capacitor question but in general I've found it to not be very bass friendly, lot of low end cut. Most of the uses I've found for it are either guitar-related or specific applications, like harmonics or creating feedback. Cool pedal, but it's not really cut out to be a bassist's "main" fuzz pedal, IMO.

Specifically one of the Dwarfcraft ones? The pedal demos seemed to show improvement over the older version with bass.

Yes, it's the Dwarfcraft one. Depending on what you want to do with it your mileage may vary. I mostly play downtuned metal with a lot of low end EQed in from various sources that went missing when the Hyperion was kicked in so if you're playing something different in standard it'll probably be more usable.

Sorry I am late to the party! The Hyperions made during our tenure used 1uf caps instead of .1uf. It is a significant difference.

I like the sound of these on bass ok, but if you are looking for a ton of low end, nothing from the DE:FX line is gonna do the trick, except maybe the Ruiner.

Thanks a bunch, Louise! I'm well aware of the bass limitations on DE pedals but I love the Hyperion too much to give up on it. I'll probably play with more cap values to see if I get better results. :)
