question for Lightwave bass owners

It has been a long time since this post, and I finally pulled the trigger last week on a deal I found on a 4 string VL fretless.

I am impressed with the overall quality of the bass, especially considering the one I ordered years ago and returned to the manufacturer the same day. This is a well put together bass. I was not thrilled with the sound of the stock round wound. I have installed a set of TI flats I had laying around, and that is not my cup of tea either. I am going to start experimenting with some other strings to attempt to get the hi-fi kind of modern fretless sound I am after. I have a Rob Allen MB2 now and a NS CR4M for the old school thing, and am looking for a different vibe with this bass. Any suggestions are appreciated! Regards to all! Jon

I had TI flat wounds on one of mine for the last year and have recently changed back to Everly's for an entirely fresh vibe. Give me another month or so and I'll be trying something different - maybe some acoustic bass round wounds or some tape wound, just to see what they're like :smug:
