Question for people who's amp only has one Speakon out....

If your 2 cabs only have one Speakon also, you're just good going 1/4 plug (if they have one)to the last cab from the first one, or do you get some kind of adapter to make it Speakon to the last cab? Just curious.

1/4" will work fine. If the speakon is needed, it's better having it from the amp to the first daisy-chained speaker anyway.

It takes about a minute to put a Speakon end on a cable. If I need one on there, I take the minute and make it so.

2) You have two cabs, with one speakon and one 1/4" TS each
3) To win, you need to hook up both cabs to the amp

The less adapters and connectors you have in the setup the better. Speakon-to-speakon from the amp to the 1st cab, and 1/4" to 1/4" or 1/4" to speakon from the 1st cab to the second cab ftw. The cable from the amp carries most of the current, and that's where you want to use speakons.

I'm looking at this situation right now.
I'd rather have the 2 Speakons of course.
But this makes me feel better.

Also, I can plug just 1/4 jack into the Speakon connector, correct?

I agree that the less complexity in the connection the better. Sometimes you have no choice and if it is done properly, a patch bay or sorts works well.

You can buy or build a parallel daisy chain box like this one. It allows you to mix and match speakon and 1/4" ins and outs.
