Looking at pics online, just want to verify: Are the last two frets on a fingerboard extension?
Debating getting one for a mod project to add a 3rd pickup right at the end of the fingerboard (like the long-discontinued 80s PRS bass) so if the last 2 frets can be safely removed, that would help.
