Question on amp connection to Subway 112

Hi -
I've had a situation where the Speakon cable from my amp to the Subway 112 doesn't connect reliably. I've tried multiple cables with the same result, so it's definitely an issue with the Speakon connector on the cab. If I twist it slightly clock-wise, it works, but will some times vibrate and lose the connection. So it appears the Speakon connector is the culprit and will ultimately need to be replaced. In the interim, is it OK to use the "Paralleled Out" connection as the input? This appears to work and doesn't have the connection problem.

Thanks in advance -

Yes, you can use the other jack. They are both the same electrically, so it doesn't matter which you use as the input or thru.

It's a good idea to explore how the jack was damaged. Do your cables have genuine Neutrik speakON connectors. Fakes are more likely to get stuck and cause the type of damage you describe. I suggest replacing any connectors that are not authentic Neutrik.

Yes, both jacks are electrically the same.

This is a PC mount jack that may have been damaged by a knock-off (non-Neutrik branded) plug and is not easy to replace. If you message me, I have a flat rate service program that addresses this without sending the entire speaker in.

Thanks for both of your responses - PM sent. I also realized this cab has the combo connector - i.e. supports 1/4" plug as well, although I believe Speakon is the preferred connection. I could potentially use that to daisy chain off of my 115 as the D-350 only supports Speakon - amp to 115 with Speakon, 115 to 112 with 1/4".

Correct, but it should get fixed right.

Just to close out this thread, I wanted to give a shoutout to Andy (agedhorse) for his service/support in replacing my bad Speakon jack. I removed the crossover circuit board from my cab, and shipped it to him on Monday afternoon. Granted we're only ~100 miles apart, but he received it on Tuesday afternoon, completed the repair, shipped it the same day, and it was back to me last night (Wednesday).
Thanks Andy!

I'm always happy to help out the best I can. It doesn't always go this smoothly, but usually it does.

Also, unless you are on a different calendar than I am, last night was Wednesday ;)
