The natural B only shows up in C
Major 7th chords
confusingly, "7" in a chord symbol as in
"C7" assumes a flattened seventh
unless it is explicitly marked as a
major 7th.
If the symbol does not include "maj", "M", or the triangle symbol ( ∆ ),
then assume a flat seventh
That said, the English term "7th chord" is a kind of ambiguous,
and is
sometimes used to include "any chord that is a triad plus a seventh"
For my money "C dominant 7th" is the least ambiguous wording for it.
chord symbols always break down into triad + extensions
the triad is either X (major) or Xm (minor)
the 7 is the weirdo extension, assumed flat unless marked major
all other extensions will have any flattening /sharping marked
C7= C major triad + flat 7th
Cm7= C minor triad plus flat 7th
C ∆ 7 = C major triad plus a major 7th
The symbols are less a matter of technical specification and more a matter of convention evolved over time
So you will get some variation in how different people notate.
