Question re: Fearful 1" driver

So it appears I may have blown my HF driver in my 15/6/1 cabinet this weekend.
towards the end of the night I kept hearing this strange buzzing crackling type sound.
At first I thought it was the corrugated tin roof vibrating, then I thought it was the 6"
mid speaker.
I tested the cabinet at home and the sound is coming from the 1" driver.
I am wondering how likely it could be that it is blown, or should I be looking elsewhere.

I took a peek inside to check connections, one of the mid connections on the crossover was "suspect" so I re-crimped a few connectors just to be safe.
I buttoned it up again and did another test.
I want to think that this may have helped but not much. as I turn the HF driver pad knob up the sound does get worse.

Is it possible something in the HF crossover is faulty, or more likely I blew the 1" driver ????

Appreciate any insight ,

Dan.

It is possible, but if running a bass through the cab and all is properly wired [including the pad] that horn typically is not working very hard. Absent evidence of a very obnoxious HF event I'd reckon it more likely you have a loose wire, a cold solder joint, a bad cable, a weak bass battery, a dodgy amp on the fritz = swap out/test elsewhere each element of the signal chain one at a time.

Good luck.

I am going to have to triple check everything again
Thanks
