Question re Ken Smith Compressor 125 Low B (tapered)

Can someone tell me what the exact length of the tapered part at the ball end?

2.5" to first taper. Full winding starts just before 2.75"

I measure from the back of the ball. If you measure from the front it is 2.25" / 2.5"
