Double Bass Question regarding AI series II contra

I currently own and use a Contra Series II, the one pictured on the right in the following link:

I feel like it is time to move on to something different. Is there any way to detach the Clarus head from the AI cabinet? It's so frustrating because this combo is basically a Clarus head bolted onto their cab. I can even remove the speakon cable that connects the two. I would like nothing more than to take the head off and buy an LDS cabinet. Does anyone know if this is even possible? It seems ludicrous that this should be so difficult.

One separate question: would a Clarus 1 have enough power for the 4-ohm LDS 2x8?
