Questiona about Adapters

This question is about adapters. I have a DD-65 electronic drum set from Yamaha. I lost the adapter a while ago. It's a 12 V 1.5 amp adapter. I found one from Yamaha in my house for a keyboad that is a 12V 1000 ma adapter. Will it damage the drum set if I use it? I tried it and it worked fine, but wondered if over the long haul it would damage it.

Not an effects question, but I figure these effects also use adapters so the answer could be similar whether the adapter question is about effects, or about a little digital drum set.

It shouldn't. As long as the polarity matches up you should be fine. And I suspect you'd know by now.

Power consumption is spec'd at 19 watts. That's about 1.58 amps (1580 mA) at 12 volts.

I had one of these that I powered with an adaptor from my CIOKs power supply at only 600mA or so and never had a problem, so YMMV. Man I loved that thing and regret getting rid of it- used to play it through my effects rig (fuzz + filter especially) and make industrial beat loops with my Boomerang looper. So cool!
