Questions about Zoom B3 as soundcard

I was set on getting the Zoom B3 because I need to be able to record bass well at home. I thought the B3 would be good since it is a soundcard and I also get other features with it.

But I have read that some have different kinds of problems recording with it. One of the problems being that if I want to record bass to a song it can only record the bass and not the song at the same time. Anyone know if this is true?

The first priority for me is to be able to record. The other features of the B3 is just a bonus.

Would I be better of buying a real soundcard instead? I only have usb in my computer so firewire won't work.

I'm pretty new in the recording world so I'm greatful to any tips on how to record a great bass sound.

Thanks in advance.
