Double Bass Quick Fixes for Bass Problems

:hmm: Been having an ongoing issue with the bass where I'm hearing a vibration whenever I play notes around A (G#-B). I'll press my hand on the left upper bout and the middle section (not sure what that's called) and the vibration will dampen just a little. I'd like to get it fixed soon, but I'm in the middle of moving to college and I have an audition coming up in a couple weeks and I don't know how long the repair will take.

Is there any quick temporary fix for this to slightly eliminate the sound for a while until I can send it in to David Gage and not feel stressed out?

Thanks

Sounds like it's probably just an open seam, or if it's an old bass with lots of cracks, maybe one has opened up. Either way, a luthier can glue it up in no time. With a little attention you could even do it yourself and be back in action very quickly. I wouldn't stress; just get it to a luthier. Doesn't even need to be a bass specialist; just someone who fixes instruments...
