Quick question on a Mesa Boogie 400 + amp

Quick question :
Can you plug TWO basses at the same time in the 400 + model ?
I know it has two channels but can you use them both at the same time ?

According to the manual:

" Be certain to sample both channels because their tonal personalities
are both very usable with very interesting differences. It is even possible to preset the two
channels and footswitch between them using our separate A-B Footswitch Box."

That suggests you can use them both at the same time but they will share the EQ section.

Yes. Channel 1 and Channel 2 are slightly different, but it should work fine.

You already got the right answer ie definitely doable but wanted to also add that doing this sounds AWESOME. Big thick tone. Love doing this w my 400+

I used to play around with plugging one bass into both channels at the same time and there were some great tones to be found that way. I can't see a reason why plugging separate basses in should be an issue. The channels are voiced and gained noticeably differently, in case you weren't aware.

That's exactly what I want !

Note that the sensitivity of the two channels is different and so are the input impedances. Try it first to see if it works ok, it may or may not. You will have better results using an active bass also.

One of the big things with this amp was to use an ABY switch. Using both channels in parallel with one bass opened up a whole new tonal palette compared to just one or the other. With 2 basses it should work but i don't know how they'll interact with each other in a mix.

I used the Boss LS-2 with mine, chained for both channels, and found some great tones with it!
