I am assuming that is the sort of thing the OP is dealing with, but that's just a guess.
The best way to answer theory questions is to study actual music. When you listen to your favorite radio station or playlist, do you hear any songs that have a mix of major and minor sounds? How many examples off the top of your head can you give of "bluesy" sounding songs?
There is some historical perspective on that. In the African scale, the 3 and 7 are sort of flat, so the minor 3rd works fine. It is also why you will find a lot of 7th chords in Blues, especially on the 5.
From another perspective, it is the Europeans who are playing their 3rds and 7ths sort of sharp.
