I don't have the BB but I have a GK MB200 and MB500. I am one that really doesn't like a sizzly trebly sound out of my bass. I'm old school and like a fat, round tone.
Maybe the MB's start sounding sharp, but after some tweaking I have mine sounding slightly like an old fashioned SVT style amp with a bit of hariyness using Channel B on the MB500, and cranking the Pre volume. So, I think maybe people could consider that the GK has a wide variety of tones available, if you have the time to invest in learning the EQ patterns.
I know I love my amps, they work excellent for me!

Here is a stupid question: I recently acquired a Tone Hammer 350, I didn't think I'd like it and I really didn't until I started gigging with it. There is something about the mids on this amp. I play through some pretty efficient cabs so the output is acceptable for most of the gigs I do, however I do play some larger outdoor events where there is no FOH bass support.

Here is my question: can I connect the TH350 to the BB800 power section? This way I can take advantage of the TH's grit/hair and the muscle of the BB.

Yes, simply hook an XLR cable between the TH350 XLR out and the BB800 rear line-in XLR.

The TH350 does not require a speaker load to operate.

The BB800's Master knob will then control the volume.

You would need to find some way to boost the level up to line level (like running through a small mixer), but adding a mixing board kind of defeats the purpose of all these compact amps doesn't it?

Most clean boost pedals don't do the necessary XLR conversion, you need to be able to get about 26dB of gain and end up with a balanced signal. If you used a simple adapter, you would need an additional 6dB of gain and there's the liklihood of noise problems.

You might be better off driving it with a TH-500 which IIRC has already a line level unbalanced out (you will still need an adapter to get to XLR, I would recommend a 1:1 isolation transformer for this because of the noise).

You might PM Bob Lee and see what ideas he has.
