I am curious if you still felt the Quilter "bests" the MB LM800 Tube. I got to play through the LMT800 recently, and was really impressed with its output and tone shaping (pretty stout even at 8 ohm). That said, I really like that the Quilter is USA made, simple, compact. Thanks for any further thoughts
Hello-The LM800 Tube is a great amp; I never would suggest anything else! I trade off heads with my Berg 410 frequently, using the LM, my Quilter, and a Thunderfunk 750A -nice stable,if I say so myself
You know, they ALL produce, and the LM800 has a quality all its own with some great tone-shaping/eq features.
But.. I still have to add the the BassBlock is the best "plug n' play" unit I've ever used. It is STRONG! and TIGHT! and to my style and ears just defaults to a great sound. Very stiff, as Pat Quilter defines it.

But I digress; back to amps- The problem is that there are so many fine choices.
I bought my BB800 from a vendor who offered a 45-day no questions, you can return it if you want, trial period.
Obviously, i feel it's a keeper, but IMO its a good way to give it a shot,, & if it doesn't float your boat- Send it back!

And, we really do "talkfood" all day long, no lie 
Watching the beignets being made, then eating them at the Coffee Call was a euphoric experience. The locals chuckled when I took pics of them being powdered-sugar coated. Nothing better in the Universe.
Back to the Quilter so as to not hijack/derail; It is the etoufee of small amps IMO.

I used my BB800 at a country gig Tuesday night. Got many complements on the sound. It was hooked up to a beater cab loaded with a 3012HO/horn.

I'm pretty darn impressed with the Quilter, and I'm pickier than I like to admit. Great power delivery and even though the EQ controls are unique and somewhat limited, they cover a lot of ground. I find I have to run the gain lower to not get too much limiting happening. I figured that out after this pic was taken . If I dime the master, and use the gain as a volume control I get a lot more slam out of it. Very nice overall, especially given the price.

Does anyone have word on when the next gen is coming? Hopefully it'll have a usuable line out...

Didn't realize there was an issue. So far sound folks have unanimously loved mine. Still wish it wasn't tied to the master though.
What's the issue with the line out? I use a separate DI so I haven't tried it yet.
Yeah, i mean the fact that the line out os directly tied to the master.
I need a lot of stage volume (for a gig with IEMs, but that's another issue) so i crank the master and that takes it well out of the usable range (unless I pad it about ~40dB)
Most of my basses are pretty hot and my cab is efficient so having both gains around noon = cranking for me. The Master thing is an annoyance for me... I can easily work through it.
