If you're worried about volume level/output, I can tell you I have used this with single 1x12 8 ohm on stage with full orchestra plus rhythm section, as well as 12 plus piece horn band, and get plenty of sound at something like 50-72% of the output available from this pedal. As a stage monitor.
Its also plenty for coffee house gigs and Rehearsal studio etc. When gain is cranked it becomes a fuzz box, though, so that can limit clean output.
The only time I actually need more than what this pedal offers is when I'm outside or large venue without PA support.
Is this the same preamp as what's in the 802? I assumed the 802 has a cleaner pre. Can someone speak to that?
There's a huge difference between jamming quietly at night to yourself, and playing a large outdoor venue with no PA. Pcake is looking for a solution for the former situation, not the latter, and I can guarantee that the gain won't need to go into "fuzz box" territory until well after the neighbors start banging on your door.
Agreed. It gets fricken LOUD. If you run the gain lower it is very clean. Personally, I like pushing it until it just starts to limit and overdrive as it sounds(and feels) fantastic. Such a great sounding pedal/amp.
There's an extra band of EQ on the 802 but no vintage switch. I would think that the 802 is pretty much a clean amp like the 800.
The Interbass has a lot of lows with bass control at 12 o'clock compared to the BB800. Not sure about the 802 though.
i pulled the trigger and ordered an interbass head. since it's coming from MF, who knows how long it will take to arrive? i'd have ordered from sweetwater, but our rep said they were out with no ETA.
Just wait until you hear how loud Quilters 45 watts is! I’m a big fan of mine. It gets use as a preamp and a head for gigging. It’s also very responsive to different gain settings.
it's due to arrive tomorrow, and i can't wait. i'm not worried about volume - these days i play in a condo. but i want tone i can love, and it soulds like the interbass delivers just what i'm looking for.

Since this this has not only a speaker out but also a balanced line out, I imagine you could power a cab and also a powered speaker where it acts as a pre-amp only. Eh?
Yes you can take a line level out and also power a cab, as a monitor or something. Run the line out into your PA or powered speaker.
Yes, and the effects send doubles as a line out as well. It sends the signal pre master+vintage switch. So there are two line outs available. Very slick-

Welp! A used InterBass I was watching on the 'verb posted a massive sale on what was already a price hard to argue with. I pulled the trigger.
I occurs to me that while I have a 1x12 and a 2x10 cab, I've never combined them. And doing so would get the full 45W at 4 ohms, though I'll want to experiment a bit to make sure I don't have any issues with mixing those two cabs. Kinda feeling like it'll be fine.

Like @pcake did, I'm just dropping by to mention that my InterBass is arriving tomorrow. 
Really can't wait. I own the BB800, so already a Pat Fan. But if the InterBass works out, it'll mean I can get my whole small-to-medium performance rig in my Targus backpack (currently I need an extra carry case for either the pedal board or the BB800). I have the AI Upshot cab and double on upright and electric for jazz combo or theater pit gigs, mostly. The 45 seems like it's going to be perfect.

I think you're going to like it. I do a lot of that kind of thing with a small cab comparable to the upshot and this pedal amp is more than enough.
Just my luck! It came in and I tore the box open... and while the lil tiny amp was in there, my seller forgot to include the power supply. Egads!

I do! I can find usable tones all over it, easy to dial in because of familiarity the the BB800. And PLENTY loud in my music room. I need to schedule a jazz band rehearsal even though we don’t have anything on the books to hear it with the band. I’m psyched.

That reminds me of something I hadn’t seen mentioned, and maybe it’s unique to mine—but I had some trouble with the PS jack into the InterBass. I had to position the cable “just so” in order to keep the connection solid. It just didn’t feel snug and it cut out if I moved anything near it. A problem since it’s on my pedal board…
PSA: I reached out to Quilter, and they responded quickly. There’s a “bump” in the jack that you have to push past to secure the jack. Now, I HAD felt that and done what they described already. But they added another note: there should be no metal showing when it’s plugged in.
Turned out, on my unit anyway, past the bump there was an additional half a millimeter I had to push to get the metal to disappear. Not by design, likely from some mild abuse, but maybe that info helps someone in future with a used 45.

Ditto here--I now remember to push it in fairly hard, as far as it will go.
