Lots of success running the InterBass into my Audiokinesis Hathor 1203 this past weekend... WITH a drummer & guitarist/singer.
To be fair, I had a bit of PA support, but that was only to distribute the bass evenly along with mic'd kick & snare, vox, & gtr; it was in a large, boomy brewery event space with extra PA wall speakers at the far end. I ended up dialing the bass frequencies back a fair bit, but the headroom I had on hand + some mids boost kept me full yet clear without getting close to the dime.
The axe of choice was my Fender Mustang PJ, which has a moderate output and lots of upper mids thanks to the J part of its EMG GZR kit.
It dawned on me that, being so diminutive, I might need to keep it in a protective container inside the compact range bag I carry in to avoid scratches from cable tips etc. Anyone got a DIY solution they've found for padding their IB in a tiny gig bag?
For the moment, I've repurposed a small piece of cardboard to separate it from the power/speaker cables, then wrapped it in a(n unused) washcloth, which does offer decent protection.
