Speaking of Rics, am I to conclude from your new avatar that you flipped yours??

My current batch. I may have to look for more now!
They are really great Basses. I owned one and it was very cool but it had the worst neck of any bass I’ve ever played. IT WAS YUUUUGE!
Yeah it could have been a bad year for the necks or something but it was uncomfortable to play it was so big.Is that right? The necks on the specimens in this thread all look fairly svelte. But then I guess Ric changes up the neck profile on the pieces quite a bit from year to year.
Or the BEST neck! They are really great Basses. I owned one and it was very cool but it had the worst neck of any bass I’ve ever played. IT WAS YUUUUGE!

Wow!!!!I should have hung on to the two I had.
The MapleGlo had the nicest figuring I'd ever seen on a 4004Cii, and the Transparent Blue one - one of the earliest UV-cured Ciis - had turned a very lovely & even shade of purple.

If it was a Rickenbacker factory turquoise,it would’ve been a very rare bird. One of my favorite colors.I found a 4004 in a consignment shop here in town about 10 years ago. It was, if I recall correctly, some god awful green/turquoise colour. I probably could have gotten past the colour, but the bass had a weird "corusey" sound to it that turned me off. I asked the shop owner about the sound, he said he couldn't hear it. That and the asking price for what was obviously a worked hard and put away wet bass was imho far too much.
I would certainly entertain trying one in good standing!

And time will tell how popular that model will be. It certainly drew the ire of most pundits online.Probably have to make room in the production schedule for the new 4003/5
I would be interested to try one. I love the 4003. I also have never seen one in person.
